I have had two careers since I graduated from High School. They usually had a parallel and/or intersected development. Many times, I started in a company teaching a language and ended up in the administrative area or vice-versa.
Teaching Business English allows me to use my experience in both areas. I have also written and translated many texts about the administrative area. These texts helped me to improve my business vocabulary.
I have taught students from different industries such as tourism and hospitality; food; manufacturing; agriculture; legal practice, etc.
The course was especially designed for students who are able to speak English but need to improve their communication skills to navigate well in the corporate world. I use the Market Leader series. The books were developed with the Financial Times and cover “negotiation, people management, advertising and more.”
“Market Leader introduces students to topical business issues while building professional language and communication skills required for the business world.” “Each lesson brings key business language necessary to participate in an increasingly international work environment. The business concepts and how business works in different cultures are brought by magazines articles and videos.” 1
